Looking for online jobs for teens?
I’ve got you. When you’re a teenager, there’s nothing like earning your own cash.
Still, there are a few difficulties that teens have when trying to earn money. Firstly, your job options can be pretty limited under the age of 18. The next big problem is that a lot of jobs for teenagers don’t pay very well.
The good news is that there are now plenty of ways to earn money online for teenagers that are flexible and pay well!
Here are 10 online jobs for teenagers and money-making sites that you can join from age 13 up.
These are all legit ways for teenagers to make money online without even leaving the house! So they’ll fit well around school and your social life.
Let me know what you think of this list, and if you know of any other ways to make money online as a teenager, please share them in the comments at the bottom!
Slice the Pie (13+)
Do you enjoy listening to music? If you answered ‘yes’ then Slice the Pie could be a great little side-earner.
The website allows music artists to submit their material so that other people can give them feedback. Slice the Pie now also allows you to rate fashion items, so there’s something for all kinds of people here.
To take part in Slice the Pie, you simply need to listen to the tracks provided on the website, and then give a rating and a review.
Don’t expect to be listening to big-name bands here, because it’s generally a place for newcomers to find out what people think about their work.
Still, you might find a new artist that you love before anyone else has even heard of them.
Slice the Pie should be considered a side-earner that will put a few quid in your pocket over time. You’re only paid a few pence per review, but this can be increased if you’re detailed and build your reviewer rating.
Realistically, this is the kind of job you should take part in when you have nothing else to do. It won’t pay you enough to warrant sitting there all day listening to songs, but it can become another string to your bow.
And if you enjoy discovering new artists anyway, why not get paid for it!
Freecash.com (13+)
Freecash.com is one of the best websites to make money online for teens. If you’re 13+ years old, you can earn money by filling out surveys, completing small tasks, or even playing mobile games!
There is a large community of users around Freecash who are in touch and help each other make the most cash with the offers.
This is thanks to various channels provided by the Freecash team, such as Chat, Discord channels, and social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit).
You can withdraw your money through PayPal, cryptos like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, or Doge, and Gift Cards (Amazon, Steam, Google Play, Netflix, Spotify, Zalando, Play Station, Xbox, and many others) instantly.
They also offer several other withdrawal methods like buying skins for the most popular games like CS: GO, Fortnite, LoL, or Valorant.
If you’re looking for the best website to earn money online for teens, you need to try Freecash.com.
ySense (13+ in US, 16+ elsewhere)
With ySense – formerly known as ClixSense – you’re paid small amounts of cash for lots of different online tasks.
These include things like watching adverts, take surveys, trying new products, downloading apps, signing up for websites, and so on.
This is a great online money-maker for teens because it’s so flexible. You can sign in and earn whenever you like and, of course, there are no minimum requirements.
Perhaps the only issue with ySense, however, is that you do need to be quite active to make a decent amount of money. Many tasks will only be available for a short amount of time so, if you’re not online, you’re missing out on potential earnings.
With that being said, if you’re looking for a way to make some extra spending money on the side then you can’t really go wrong with ySense.
Earnings do add up relatively quickly over time but don’t expect this site to provide a full time living.
You can choose to withdraw your earnings to PayPal, Amazon vouchers or other gift cards.
Another bonus of ySense is that you can join from any country in the world!

Swagbucks (13+)
Swagbucks works in the same way as ySense – you can earn money in lots of different ways by taking part in small tasks online.
Here are some of the ways to make money online with Swagbucks:
- watching videos
- taking part in offers
- completing surveys
- searching online
- playing games
- cashback for online shopping (get your parents onboard!)
One of the positive things about Swagbucks is that there’s a lot of variety. The last thing you want to be doing is taking part in something that bores you to the point of not visiting the website again.
Thankfully, the daily tasks on Swagbucks change all the time so, if you have a few minutes spare each day, there’s an opportunity to earn for little effort.

Again, this isn’t the kind of job that’s going to earn you huge amounts of cash, but it’s not unreasonable to aim for £15-20 per month on the side.
And you have lots of different options for withdrawing your cash, including Paypal, Amazon and other gift cards.
InstaGC (13+)
InstaGC is another ‘get paid to’ site that rewards you for tasks such as watching videos, downloading apps, signing up for free trials, completing surveys, and even weekly bonuses just for logging in.
The difference here is that you’re paid in gift vouchers. You might be thinking that’s not as good as cash but, thankfully, the vouchers can be spent at huge brands such as Amazon, ASOS, Starbucks and many more.
They also have vouchers for lots of gaming companies, which makes InstaGC a good option to earn online for teenagers who want money to spend on games.
There are a couple of other bonuses to using InstaGC. Firstly, you can take part on your phone so you can earn whenever you want – think public transport, when you’re watching TV at night, when you should be listening to your lecturer. Wait, scrap that last one.
Secondly, there is no pay-out threshold with InstaGC which means, if you need to buy something for £1 on Amazon, you can do so.
Twitch (13+)
Twitch is a live streaming platform that’s predominantly used by people who enjoy playing and watching videogames.
However, people also stream themselves doing other things, such as playing instruments, taking part in sports, and just chatting.
If you’re a talented gamer or have a vibrant personality that people gravitate towards, then there is the potential to earn a decent amount of cash on Twitch.
Keep in mind that Twitch isn’t a get rich quick scenario for most people. To earn money, you’ll need viewers, and this can take time.
It means you could be streaming to no people at all for a while, but everyone goes through this process.
One of the great things about Twitch – besides playing videogames for a hobby and potential living – is that there are a couple of ways to earn.
Firstly, your audience can donate directly to you when you’re streaming. If you’re entertaining, people tend to want to reward you for it.
Secondly, if you’re successful then you can become a Twitch Affiliate which allows users to subscribe to you monthly for a small fee, most of which ends up in your bank account.
Blogging (any age)
If you’re a talented writer and are knowledgeable about a certain subject, then blogging can be a great way to earn money.
Creating a blog with WordPress doesn’t require too much prior knowledge. It’s as easy as buying a domain (www.YourBlogName.com – this is the site I use) and a hosting package, and then installing WordPress where you can add pre-made themes to make your website look great.
Once your blog is up and running, it can make money in various ways:
- Ads – an ad network places adverts on your blog, and you earn money based on how many people view or click the ads
- Affiliate links – this is where you get a commission when somebody buys a product you recommend
- Sponsored posts – when a brand pays you to write a post about them
- Selling products – you can sell your own services or products through your blog, for example, you could create a short pdf ebook or some useful printable worksheets on your blog topic.
Blogging can generate huge amounts of income but it’s worth noting that this isn’t a get rich quick scenario. It can take a very long time for blogs to become profitable because you need loads of content and – more importantly – loads of views.
Nevertheless, if this appeals to you, I recommend just starting a blog as soon as possible! Even if it doesn’t pay you anything immediately, it can set you up big time in the future. The older a blog is, the easier it is to get to the top of Google search results so a little effort now will pay off down the road.

Valued Opinions (16+)
Valued Opinions is a survey website that you can join from the age of 16 and above. When you’ve signed up for an account, you’ll be sent surveys that usually pay 50p – £2.
However, there are surveys that pay much more than this on the odd occasion.
Once you’ve earned enough, you can cash out in the form of vouchers for brands such as Sainsburys, Argos, and Marks & Spencer.
The best voucher available is probably Amazon since you can buy pretty much whatever you want!
As with many of the other survey websites around, Valued Opinions should be viewed as an opportunity to earn a few quid on the side. You’re not going to be inundated with work here, but you are likely to receive a couple of survey invitations each day to keep things ticking over.

Online Tutoring (16+)
Online tutoring is a great way to earn money as a teenager because there are a lot of people out there looking for help.
If you’ve got a strong grasp of a certain subject, then you could spend time tutoring others online. This can be done in a variety of formats – video call, online chat, and even email.
There is no official age limit for this if you find work independently (for example, through family and friends).
You can also join a tutoring agency to help find work, although they may have their own limits. For example, one popular site is Superprof, which has a minimum age requirement of 16.
The general rule is that you should be at least one education level about those you wish to tutor. So for example, an A level student can tutor a GCSE student, and a GCSE student can tutor a Key Stage 3 student, and so on.
I would say that this money-making opportunity is particularly good for A level or college students, who may be able to pass down some knowledge to those who are about to take their GCSEs or even younger students.
Although some people may prefer to hire older and more experienced tutors, there are also some advantages to having a tutor who is closer in age to the student.
For example, when you have just recently gone through the same exams yourself, the material is fresh in your mind, and you understand what it’s like from a student’s perspective.
Some parents (who are usually the ones hiring the tutor) might feel that their child will relate better to a teenage tutor than an adult.
And if school work isn’t your strong point, you could provide tutoring or coaching on whatever you’re good at – music, sports, coding or more!
Fiverr (13+)
Fiverr is an online marketplace that allows freelancers to advertise their services to potential clients in the form of ‘Gigs’. There are currently over 300 different categories of Gigs on the website so there’s a lot of scope for most people to get involved.
If you’re a teenager and would like to become your own boss and earn money while also developing some real skills, then this might work for you.
Here are just of few out of literally 1000s of gig ideas you could offer:
- designing logos
- creating video intros
- creating memes
- making social media images for brands
- commenting on blogs
- coaching people to play videogames
- editing photos
- singing
- writing articles
- and really anything else you can think of.
The earning potential of Fiverr depends on what kind of service you’re offering. If it’s something technical like creating music or coding, then you’re likely to earn more than someone commenting on blog posts.
Gigs start at $5 and you can add bolt-on options that cost more for things like faster turnaround.
Don’t worry if you’re unable to offer a specialist skill here. Since the price is low, people will often pay for small Gigs as a joke or for fun. So you can make money on all kinds of weird and wonderful things if your advert is up to scratch.
Etsy (13+)
Etsy is another online marketplace that allows freelancers to sell handmade, vintage, custom, and digital products.
If you’re creative, you can set up an Etsy shop to sell all kinds of things – drawings, paintings, beauty products, clothes, jewellery, books, and so on.
However, you can also sell digital products. For example, if you’re a talented graphic designer, you could create posters that can be sold digitally and printed off by the customer.
This is perfect for teenagers who’d rather spend time with their friends than sit around creating craft products repeatedly. Instead, you can create a product once, and then sell it repeatedly in digital format!
The only thing to note here is that – although Etsy allows people of 13 years and above to sell products on the website – you will need to do it through an account of a guardian who is over the age of 18.
Payments for work can also only be transferred to the 18+ account holder.
Advice for making money online as a teenager
Hopefully, you enjoyed my list of ways to make money online under 18!
Before you get stuck in, I wanted to mention a couple of important points.
Firstly, although you can join any of the sites listed below from age 13, most of them say you need ‘parental consent’ under age 18.
So make sure you fill your parents in on your money-making plans.
Secondly, many money-making sites pay via PayPal. Unfortunately, you can’t have your own PayPal account if you’re under 18.
But you can ask a parent or guardian to set one up, and they can send the money from their PayPal directly to your bank account (or just give you cash!)
If that doesn’t work for you, many of the sites below also give you the option of withdrawing your earnings as vouchers or gift cards for Amazon, iTunes, Google Play or many other retailers.
If you want cash for online shopping, music or gaming, one of these gift card options might suit you better!
Best online jobs for teenagers: summary
I hope this post has given you some good ideas on how to make money as a teenager without a job!
Ultimately, the best way for teenagers to earn money online is to get involved with several things at once.
A lot of the opportunities listed above will provide some decent spending money if you combine them, but they’re unlikely to become a source of full-time money on their own.
Survey and small task websites can help to add a few pounds each per week into your bank account and are great options when you’ve got some spare time.
If you’re serious about earning large sums of money online, however, you’ll also want to make a start on some slower burners such as blogging, selling on Etsy, and Fiverr.
Although these might not pay huge amounts immediately, they could provide a great deal of financial freedom further down the line.
