Hi Adrienne, thanks for your comment! It depends which method you are using. But usually, you get paid to PayPal and from there you can withdraw to your bank account 🙂

When its time to pay you, does the money get deposited into your account? Or are you sent a cheque? How does that part work?

Thx
Adrienne

Hi Marie! Most of my affiliate pins are on my personal Pinterest, which I don’t link here because my blog is anonymous 🙂 If you want to see some examples of affiliate pins, you can take a look at this Pinterest board, which is for students of Christina Root‘s courses.

Thanks

Thank you so much for reading my blog and taking the time to comment 🙂

Group boards are definitely the way forward! They give you exposure to a much larger audience and if it’s a good board, the other members will repin your content too. You will get much better results from niche specific boards than ‘pin everything’ type boards.

Just be careful because some group boards don’t allow affiliate/sales pins. If you are in Christina’s FB group, there is a list of group boards run by members in the documents section. This is a good place to find group boards too: https://www.facebook.com/groups/126964924643041/

Thank you so much for getting back to me! I’m going to keep trying. I think group boards are definitely the way forward, so I’ll put some more effort into finding some and getting on some!

I’ll go and check out Christina Root’s fb group now.

Thank you! I’m new to your blog (stumbled on a post on Pinterest, and have now pretty much read your entire blog! It’s not often I do that! 🙂 )

Hi Rosie!

It is a slow burner but difficult to say exactly without knowing exactly what you’re doing. I only made pennies in my first month, but after about 8 weeks in my earnings started to double every month until I hit about £100, since then they’ve stayed stable although I haven’t spent as much time recently.

One of the big factors is that you have to put a LOT of pins out there! Especially with SSC since the pay per click rate is low… you do need a lot of clicks to start feeling it, which means you need a lot of pins. I made at least 5 new affiliate pins each day for the first few months, but I also joined a lot of group boards, so I could pin each pin out to up to 20 different boards (this is really easy in Tailwind).

Also, if you are getting any sales, you may have better results with an affiliate network that pays a percentage commission, rather than a fixed rate per click.

Are you in Christina Root’s Facebook group? It’s really useful place to discuss all these strategies 🙂

Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas! I’ve been trying with shopstylecollective for a little while now- a couple of months- and have made a grand total of… 76 pence. I started it after doing the free course from Christina Root, and followed her instructions. Am I missing something? I can’t decide whether this one is a verrry slow burner, or if I’m not doing enough. I’d love to know how you’re getting on with this specific site!

Thanks 🙂

Rosie

Hi there Susan – me too, it took me a while to get to grips with Pinterest, but once you learn how to use it effectively, the potential for bloggers and side hustlers is amazing! It’s just so powerful because it’s both a search engine and a social media, so you can reach so many people.

I’m making a regular income now with affiliate pinning so I would definitely recommend spending some more time on it if you can 🙂

Thanks for your comment!

I’ve actually just really started learning how to use Pinterest effectively. I have been using it for a little over a year. But I never saw any real results from it because I never took the time to learn how to use it.

Now that I am starting to figure things out, I am loving it. You’re right, it’s an awesome way to grow your blog and actually earn money.

The one thing that I haven’t done that I need to take time to do is to create affiliate pins. I created one and it made me a sale in about a week.

But I haven’t taken the time to create more. Thanks for the reminder and so glad that you have shared other ways to make money on Pinterest.

Have a great day 🙂

Susan
