English: Image showing a gate valve with Handwheel on the left and one with a linear pneumatic actuator on the right. This illustration shows that attaching a linear actuator to a gate valve is fairly straightforward, and allows the actuator to move the stem up and down directly, thereby opening or closing the valve directly.
